The Abreu e Lima Refinery (RNEST), located in Ipojuca, Pernambuco, Brazil, represents a significant addition to Brazil’s refining capacity. Commissioned in 2014, RNEST is owned by Petróleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras Brasil) and was constructed by Alusa Engenharia SA. The refinery’s primary focus is on diesel fuel production, aiming to meet the demand for oil products in Northern and Northeastern Brazil while reducing imports. Fitted with advanced refining technologies, RNEST prioritizes environmental sustainability, reliability, and performance. FERBECK INTERNATIONAL SA was awarded the EPC contract for constructing two 82-meter high concrete chimneys to support the refinery’s operations.
